Dear all,

hope sb can carify the situation:

Is it obglatory in Germany to have a professional liability insurance even for a person who is only a European Patent Attorney?

Where to find these insurances, any recommendation?

Best,

I do not think that it is compulsory if you work as an EPA (European Patent Attorney, Europäischer Patentvertreter) representing before the EPO only.

If you are a patent attorney from a EEA (european economic area) country (EEA patent attorney) working in Germany, things might be different. I assume that the Patentanwaltskammer (German chamber of patent attorneys) can help you to find out.
